Mining: Fixed Plant SCADA Upgrade
Client: Tier-1 Iron Ore Producer, Pilbara, WA
Scope: Complete replacement of a legacy Citect SCADA system with a modern Ignition-based platform across a 45 Mtpa processing facility. The project included migration of over 8,000 I/O points, development of new ISA-101-compliant HMI displays, and integration with the client’s SAP maintenance management system.
Outcome: Improved operator situational awareness, 15% reduction in process upsets, and elimination of obsolescence risk on a critical production system.
Agriculture: Smart Irrigation Network
Client: Large-Scale Horticultural Producer, South-West WA
Scope: Design and implementation of a LoRaWAN-based soil moisture monitoring and automated irrigation control system across 1,200 hectares of mixed horticultural production. The system integrates soil moisture sensors, weather stations, and a cloud-based analytics platform with the existing fertigation control system.
Outcome: 28% reduction in irrigation water consumption, improved crop uniformity, and elimination of manual irrigation scheduling across the property.
Infrastructure: Water Treatment Plant Automation
Client: Regional Water Authority, WA
Scope: Full automation upgrade of a 50 ML/day water treatment plant, including new PLC-based control systems, a modern SCADA platform, and integration with the authority’s telemetry network. The project included development of automated chemical dosing control algorithms and a comprehensive operator training programme.
Outcome: Improved water quality compliance, 20% reduction in chemical consumption, and significant reduction in after-hours call-outs through improved alarm management.
